Description

Patriotic Shrimp Cocktail Shooters are elegant, refreshing, and easy-to-serve appetizers made with chilled jumbo shrimp, zesty cocktail sauce, cucumber, avocado, and fresh herbs. Served in individual shooter glasses, these festive appetizers are perfect for summer gatherings, patriotic celebrations, brunches, and holiday parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Main Ingredients:
  • 1 lb cooked jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup cocktail sauce
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1/2 cup diced cucumber
  • Fresh parsley or dill for garnish
  • Lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Shrimp: Thaw shrimp completely if frozen. Pat dry with paper towels and chill until ready to use.
  2. Make the Cocktail Sauce: In a small bowl, combine cocktail sauce, lemon juice, and prepared horseradish. Stir well.
  3. Assemble the Shooter Cups: Spoon a layer of diced cucumber and avocado into each shot glass or mini cup.
  4. Add the Sauce: Spoon cocktail sauce over the vegetable layer evenly.
  5. Top with Shrimp: Place one or two shrimp around the rim or inside each shooter glass.
  6. Garnish and Serve: Garnish with fresh herbs and lemon wedges. Serve chilled.

Notes

  • Use chilled shrimp: Cold shrimp gives the freshest flavor and best presentation.
  • Do not overfill cups: Leave enough room for easy serving and eating.
  • Pat shrimp dry: This prevents the cocktail sauce from becoming watery.
  • Assemble close to serving time: For the freshest texture and presentation.
  • Add spice if desired: Mix hot sauce or jalapeños into the cocktail sauce for extra heat.
